Mr. Hsu joined Symbio in 1998 and has been instrumental in growing the company from 40 engineers to over 1000 today. While at Symbio, Mr. Hsu has been involved in all facets of growing the company, having previously served as President, COO, CMO, and having led Symbio's North American and Japan operations. Mr. Hsu also guided the development of the Symbio Software Institutes in China, and was one of the founders of Symbio Digital Entertainment, today one of China's leading game outsourcing companies. Prior to joining Symbio, he was the CEO of Trilogica Technologies, a data aggregation software company, and CEO of Epitome Software, an IT Services Company focused on financial services. He began his career as an investment banker focused on mergers & acquisitions at Fox-Pitt, Kelton. Named by Chief Executive magazine as one of the world's Top 12 Young Global Leaders of Tomorrow in 2008, Mr. Hsu is a graduate of Wharton School of Business.
Mr. Hsu comes to Symbio from Symphony Services Corp. a global provider of product engineering outsourcing services with over $100M in revenues. During his tenure, he resided in Bangalore, India and served as the CFO for its India based delivery centers with over 3,000 people. Later, he served as Corporate Controller for its headquarters in Palo Alto, CA. Before Symphony Services, Mr. Hsu served was the Vice President of Finance and Corporate Controller for Selectica, Inc, a leading provider of enterprise contract lifecycle management and sales configuration solutions. Mr. Hsu was part of the team that led Selectica to its Initial Public Offering and raised over $190M in March 2000. Prior to joining Selectica, Mr. Hsu also held management positions at Intuit in areas of both accounting and finance. Mr. Hsu holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Santa Clara University and is a CPA in California.
With close to 30 years of experience in the hi-tech industry, Keith Matsunami leads Symbio's business development and marketing teams. Additionally, Keith is responsible for the delivery teams supporting his business development team's selling efforts. Keith spent the first 5 years of his career as a developer for Digital Equipment Corp (DEC). From there he transitioned into a sales role starting with IBM and subsequently earning senior positions at Softbank, R.R. Donnelley and Lionbridge Technologies. Keith received his B.S. in Math/Computer Science at UCLA.
Dr. Li has over 28 years of communications experience and leads Symbio's technology strategy and university programs. Prior to joining Symbio, Dr. Li was the President of eTelligent, Inc., a consultant company focusing on strategic planning & consultations on Information and communications technology. Prior to that, Dr. Li joined ARBROS Communications and Technologies in December 1999, where he served as CTO and Sr. Vice President of Technology. Before joining ARBROS Communications, Dr. Li was the Senior Vice President at Paragon Solutions responsible for strategic direction and product delivery of the company's R&D organization. Prior to that, Dr. Li was a senior technical manager in Lucent Technologies, which he joined in 1980 and made significant contributions to several critical projects such as, 5ESS Switching System, PHS (Personal Handy Phone System), Dr. Li developed a wideband data network for the Voyager project led by the California Institute of Technology Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Dr. Li holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Johns Hopkins University.
With more than 20 years' experience in software development for local and world-wide projects, Mr. Huang joined the Symbio Group when it was founded in May 1994 and he's specialized in system analysis/design and project management. Mr. Huang is also the Managing Director of Symbio's Taiwan Business Unit and oversees local business development. Mr. Huang received both his Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Computer Sciences and Information Engineering from National Taiwan University (NTU).
Mr. Wang joined Symbio in early 2006, when Symbio acquired his company, Horizon Software. Mr. Wang founded Horizon Software in Chengdu China in 2003 focusing on Web application development for Chinese and US clients. Prior to Horizon, Mr. Wang spent more than ten years consulting on multi-million dollar software projects for companies such as Accenture, AT&T, Verisign, and Inter-Continental Hotels, as well as numerous Internet startup companies in the US. Mr. Wang received his Masters in Software Engineering and Bachelors in Computer Engineering from West Virginia University.
John Ma is CEO of Symbio Digital Entertainment and a 22-year games industry veteran who is bilingual and bi-cultural in Chinese and English. His years as the Executive Vice President of Acclaim Entertainment, CEO and owner of AUVIS Studios, and executive of Activision have given him wide ranging visibility into all aspects of video game development and publishing. John contributed to the growth of Acclaim and Activision and has participated in planning, development and distribution of some of the biggest hit titles in the industry. Mr. Ma received the Outstanding Chinese Americans in Business Award as presented by the Secretary of New York State in 2001. John received his Master of Science in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley.
Col Stone is CTO of Symbio Digital Entertainment. Mr. Stone was previously a Senior Vice President at Acclaim and has been managing the production of video games since 1981. Mr. Stone was involved with the launch of more than 275 game SKUs for companies including LJN Toys, Hi-Tech Expressions, Acclaim Entertainment and Skillgames.com. His experience includes PC and all major consoles and handheld platforms. Mr. Stone was responsible for Acclaim's internal studios, and has been involved in every aspect of game development.
